Asante organizes and staffs high-impact skin cancer screening clinics in Tanzania and Uganda to detect and treat early stage skin cancer. We work with local dermatologists to teach people with albinism how to protect themselves from skin cancer, and to promote strategies for living safely in a sub-tropical climate.

Each year, we screen hundreds of children and adults with albinism; and provide hats, long-sleeve shirts, sunscreen and sunglasses. Our goal is to repeat each clinic every 4-6 months to provide a strong foundation for skin health. Our perspective is that it is far easier to prevent cancer than to treat it.
